Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and TurboStudy (“TurboStudy”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of our website, apps and services (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use TurboStudy.
• If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you may use TurboStudy only with the permission of a parent or guardian where the law requires it, and they agree to these Terms on your behalf.
• You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

• Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• Keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account, so don't share it — each account is for one person.
• Tell us right away at support@turbostudy.app if you think someone has accessed your account without permission. We may suspend an account to protect it or the Service.

When you use TurboStudy, you agree not to:

• Upload content you don't have the right to use, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, hateful or sexually explicit.
• Upload other people's personal information without their permission.
• Try to access other users' accounts or data, or probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities.
• Bypass usage limits, security features or paywalls, or use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service or generate content in bulk.
• Resell, sublicense or provide the Service to others, or use it to build a competing product or AI model.
• Interfere with or overload the Service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

TurboStudy is a study tool built to help you learn. You are responsible for following your school's academic integrity rules and your instructors' policies.

• Only upload material you're entitled to use — such as your own notes and course materials provided to you.
• Don't upload exams, tests or answer keys that you aren't authorized to use or share.
• Don't use TurboStudy during graded exams, quizzes or other assessments, or to complete graded work in ways your instructor doesn't allow.
• Don't present AI-generated content as your own work where that isn't permitted.

We may suspend or close accounts that are used for academic dishonesty.

You own your uploads. The files, text and recordings you add (“Your Content”) remain yours, and to the extent the law allows, so do the study materials generated from them for you.

The license you give us is limited. You grant TurboStudy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to operate, secure and provide the Service to you — including sending it to our service providers for AI processing and transcription. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups, and for quizzes you've shared publicly until you stop sharing them.

We don't use Your Content to train AI models, and we don't use it for unrelated purposes without your explicit permission. See our Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for making sure you have the rights needed to upload Your Content. If you believe content on TurboStudy infringes your copyright, contact support@turbostudy.app.

TurboStudy uses AI to generate notes, flashcards, quizzes, practice exams, transcripts, explanations and tutor answers (“Output”). AI can make mistakes: Output may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, even when it cites your material.

• Verify important information against your course materials and your instructors.
• Output is for studying. It is not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
• Similar Output may be generated for other users who upload similar material.

The Exam Readiness Score, confidence levels, weak-topic detection, study recommendations, Professor Profiles and Exam Blueprints are estimates based on your TurboStudy activity and uploaded material. Readiness does not predict your actual grade.

Professor Profiles and Exam Blueprints estimate what a course emphasizes from the materials you provide; they don't reveal actual exam content. TurboStudy does not guarantee any grade, score or academic outcome.

• Plans. TurboStudy offers a Free plan and paid plans (currently Premium and Pro). What each plan includes is described on our pricing page.
• Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annually, depending on what you choose — until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method at the start of each period.
• Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in US dollars. Taxes are added where applicable. If we change a price, we'll tell you in advance and the new price will apply from your next renewal.
• Cancel anytime. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access to paid features until then. After that, your account moves to the Free plan and your materials stay in your account.
• Plan changes. Upgrades, downgrades and switches between monthly and annual billing are prorated by Stripe. You'll see the amount before you confirm.
• Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry it, and paid features may be paused until the payment goes through.

We may offer optional free trials, such as a 7-day Pro trial. Trials require a payment method. Before you start, we show the date your trial ends and the price you'll pay after it. Unless you cancel before that date in Settings → Billing, the trial converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged. Trials are limited to one per person, and we may change or end trial offers at any time.

Payments are non-refundable, and we don't provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time or unused allowances, except where required by law. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. If you think you were charged by mistake, contact support@turbostudy.app.

Some paid features are described as “unlimited”. Unlimited features are meant for normal, personal studying by one student and are subject to fair use. To keep TurboStudy fast and reliable for everyone, we apply reasonable limits, including the monthly allowances shown on our pricing page.

We may limit or pause use that is automated, abusive, or far beyond normal individual studying — for example, sharing an account or generating content in bulk for other people. Where appropriate, we'll contact you first.

If you share a quiz using a public link, anyone with the link can view that quiz. You're responsible for what you share, and you can stop sharing at any time. Don't share content you don't have the right to share.

The Service — including our software, design, logos and the TurboStudy name — belongs to TurboStudy and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Service in line with these Terms.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Some parts of the Service rely on third parties, such as Stripe for payments and Google or Apple for sign-in. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

You can stop using TurboStudy at any time and delete your account in Settings. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription and permanently deletes your data, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for TurboStudy or others, or if we're required to by law. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to export your data first.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination — including Your content, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability and Governing law — will continue to apply.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that Output will be accurate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TurboStudy will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, grades, academic standing, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid TurboStudy in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$50.

Some places don't allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify TurboStudy against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content or from your violation of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TurboStudy is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@turbostudy.app so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using TurboStudy after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
