What actually works
Evidence-informed study advice you can use with or without TurboStudy.
Quiz the reading before the lecture
Trying to answer questions before you've fully learned the material — sometimes called pretesting — can improve how much you learn when you then read or attend the lecture, even when your first answers are wrong. The questions tell your brain what to look out for.
Try a short quiz after skimming an assigned reading. Then go to the lecture knowing which questions you couldn't answer.
Check understanding, not just recall
Easy questions confirm you recognize terms. Harder questions — applying a concept to a new example or predicting what happens if something changes — check whether you understand the reading. Start at medium difficulty; move to hard or exam level as your scores climb.
Use your misses as a reading guide
Re-reading a whole PDF after a bad quiz is slow and mostly covers what you already know. Every explanation in TurboStudy cites the page it comes from, so you can re-read only those pages — then retake the questions you missed a day later.
Turn a reading list into a review routine
A simple weekly loop that keeps readings from piling up:
- One short quiz per reading, the day you read it.
- Retake your misses two or three days later.
- Once a week, one mixed quiz across all readings so far.
- Before the exam, longer mixed practice across the whole course.

Frequently asked questions
Do the explanations tell me where the answer is in the PDF?
Yes. In the app, each question cites the page of your PDF it was written from, so you can check the context.
How long can the PDF be?
The free tool takes PDFs up to 5 MB and 10 pages. With a free account you can upload PDFs up to 30 pages; Premium handles much larger files.
Can I control how many questions I get?
In the app, yes — up to 10 per quiz on Free, 50 on Premium and 100 on Pro. The free tool on this page makes an 8-question quiz.
What if my PDF is scanned?
Scanned PDFs have no selectable text. Upload photos of the pages in the app and TurboStudy will read them.
Can I share the quiz with my study group?
Yes. Share any quiz with a link; classmates can take it without an account.
