An AI study app for university students, built around your courses
University means more material, fewer reminders and exams that ask you to apply ideas, not repeat them. TurboStudy keeps each course in one place: upload lectures, slides, readings or recordings, and get notes, flashcards, multiple-choice quizzes and practice exams from them — plus an Exam Readiness Score that shows which topics to study next.

What actually works
Evidence-informed study advice you can use with or without TurboStudy.
University exams ask for more than recall
In many university courses, less happens in class and more is left to you: long reading lists, fast-moving lectures and exams that ask you to apply concepts to situations you haven't seen. Re-reading and highlighting — which may have been enough before — tend to fall short here.
What works is practice that matches the exam: explaining ideas in your own words, answering application questions, and reviewing at spaced intervals instead of in one long session. Our guide to studying for a midterm with active recall shows what that looks like day by day.
A weekly system across several courses
Juggling four or five courses works better with a routine than with willpower:
- After each class: upload the material and take a short quiz the same day.
- Daily: a short flashcard review across all courses — 15 to 20 minutes is plenty.
- Weekly: one mixed quiz per course covering everything so far.
- Two to three weeks before an exam: switch to practice exams and work on weak topics.
Cumulative finals need a cumulative plan
A final covering twelve weeks of material can't be learned in the last one. The fix isn't more hours at the end — it's revisiting earlier material regularly all term, so it's still there in week twelve. Short, spaced reviews of old topics take little time and pay off heavily at exam time.
Your best evidence for what an exam will reward is the course itself: the syllabus learning objectives, topics with the most lecture time, worked examples and any practice questions your instructor provides. TurboStudy Pro's Professor Profile and Exam Blueprint analyze that material for you, with the evidence behind each finding.
Prioritize by weight and weakness
How well you think you know a topic is an unreliable guide — material you've read many times feels familiar whether or not you can use it. Practice results by topic are a much better signal, which is what the Exam Readiness Score is built from. With limited time, rank topics on two things:
- High weight, weak: study first.
- High weight, strong: keep warm with short spaced reviews.
- Low weight, weak: cover the basics, don't over-invest.
- Low weight, strong: leave until the end, if at all.
Bring better questions to office hours
“I don't get chapter 5” is hard to help with. “I keep getting questions about price elasticity wrong when income changes — here's one I missed” is easy. Your quiz results show you exactly which concepts to ask about, which makes office hours far more useful.
